Stage & Silver Screen - The Oscars. These are songs from the first 31 years, 1934-1964. It is the most highly sought after musical award in movies. The Oscars began 1927/28, 28/29, 29/30, 30/31, 31/32, 32/33, and someone must have said wait a minute. This is too confusing. So beginning in 1934 they covered just one year. Each year the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominate and vote to decide the best film, actor, actress, supporting actor, supporting actress, song, story, costumes and on down the line. No matter who wins, the next day it's front page news around the world....
