In 1932, actress / singer, Peggy Louise Snyder, was hired under the name Harriet Hilliard by Oswald George Nelson. In 1935, Ozzie and Harriet were married. Ricky was born May 8, 1940, in Teaneck, New Jersey. At age 9 he played himself on radio sitcom, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. Later on the TV show, he would appear in some 320 episodes.
In 1957 his girl friend was raving about Elvis. Ricky said "well I’m gonna make a record too." He sang A Teenagers Romance on The Ozzie & Harriet show with a rolled up news paper in his hands with Harriet, Ozzie and David looking on. The record climbed to #2 on the charts. The flip side, Fat’s Domino’s I’m Walkin’ made it to #4. The latter was the only song he could play on the guitar all the way through. From 1957 to 1962 he would have thirty top 40 hits.
