Neil Lesley Diamond was born January 24, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York. He is the third most successful adult contemporary artist in America only behind Elton John and Barbra Streisand. Ironically he and Barbra sang in the All City Choir together. He took up fencing in high school and was given a full scholarship to N.Y.U. He was on the 1960 N.C.A.A. championship team. His songwriting career began while still in college. His first monster hit, I'm A Believer, was recorded by TV group, The Monkee's is included in this show.
He has a multigenerational following and still packs tens of thousands of loyal fans into the largest venues after forty-five years! This program includes six songs from the 1960's, six from the 1970's and three from the 1980's.
