Sullivan Sings Sinatra
Original program September, 1998 - Redone September, 2005 - Again April 2010
All new show & CD in April 2010
The newest version of this show has Mark Winner on piano, Shane Sullivan on Drums and I added the rest (vocals, bass & guitars).. Jerry Winner is once again featured, this time on saxophone, on "Fly Me To The Moon." My daughter, Becky (Sullivan) Sterba, made a wonderful duet appearance on "Something Stupid," which Frank and his daughter Nancy sang together in the 60's.
Bing Crosby once said "He has a voice that comes along once in a lifetime. Why did it have to be during mine?" A star of radio, film, live stage performances the leader of The Rat Pack. A mostly chronological program from his very first hit "All Or Nothing At All," the Dorsey years, the Capital Records years, his movies, and the mature 1960s. The show includes his life story and some of his most memorable songs. Following is part of the intro dialogue and the complete show song list.Francis Albert Sinatra was born December 12, 1915. He was not breathing so the doctor laid his little body aside and turned his attention to saving his mother Dolly, after a very difficult delivery. Years later, Frank said as far as he was concerned his grandmother had the most common sense in the room. She picked him up and ran him under cold water until he began to cry. I don't know about you, but I'd cry too if somebody ran me under ice cold water! Frank fought his way into this world and never quit.... This show will feature music and stories about the man who is arguably the greatest entertainer of the second half of the century.
