New In
August, 2004This new show has the punch of a full band. I've prerecorded drums, bass, and background guitar solos. Close your eyes and you'll hear four more of me. I just can't play it all live!
The "King" was born January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Mississippi. At six years of age he was in his first talent contest and by ten won second prize singing at the Alabama/Mississippi Sate Fair. On July 5, 1954 he recorded what many experts call the "birth" of Rock "N" Roll, "That's Alright." His meteoric rise to stardom began by 1956. He was a star on the concert stage, in motion pictures and definitely the biggest star of his generation. The show includes the full band sound, pre-recorded with me on every instrument as well as me singing all background voices. Sort of the Sullivanaires. Me singing all the parts of the Jordanaires, his backup singers until the late 60s.
Elvis starred in 31 feature films. The screenplay for his only comedy, Tickle Me, was co-written by my grandmothers cousin, Edward Bernds. Ed was also director/writer for many Three Stooges, Blondie, and Bowery Boys films.
His 1973 television special, Elvis - Aloha From Hawaii, was the first show broadcast via satellite to more than forty countries and seen by as many as 1.5 billion people around the world.
